Called 8:30 in the am to cancel delivery

They called 8:30am of delivery after waiting 1 week for delivery which we requested, furniture was damaged. After we gave away our old couch.

Canceled our order as they could not guarantee a delivery time that we could agree upon. Not sure if I'm the only one working for a living but I can keep taking off because Raymour and Flanigan checks their shippments the morning of delivery.

Store manager would not come to speak to me when I was at the store left the counter clerk to deal with the problem. She was very nice and tried to fix the error.

I had money to spend and needed a new entertainment center and when I walked into my local Raymour and Flannigan all the employees were SITTING around EATING DONUTS and not one person of the 5 or 6 employees I spotted said hello or came to help me. After 20 minutes of wondering around looking for help I was so disgusted I left.

I called their corporate and they didn't seem to care either.

So someone else got my business. Dummies.

did you get delivery? was the furniture as yuo ordered. Did they resolve the problem? Are you aware that you can elevate such a problem to the regional manager and to the HQ with a quick phone call? This is a comapny that thrives on consumer feedbaqck especially up the chain of command. Furniture stores are in a dog fight to surviver. unappy consumer mean empty showrooms and eventually closed stores. I'vre know R&F to be generally very good but on occasion any storer (especially delivery( has its snags..dueto weather and unforeseen circumstances..and ummm..human error. Y

Did you know your salesman is responsible to assure the order is 100%, typically a day or two before delivery. They should checked with the warehouse to make sure everything was there.

Sales can't view the furniture themselves before it goes out 'cause the warehouse is somewhere nearby in the region, but Sales has to trust the delivery crew is competent enough NOT to damage it.

Also, mistakes/damage can happen while in storage...or even before the furniture is delivered from the mfr, though you didn't specify what type of damage there was.

Incomplete/damaged assembly

Well, I was so pleased with the deal we got at the clearance center, I was unconcerned wiht the minor blemishes in the bed we just purchased from Raymour and Flanagan. There are missing screws, and the footboard is cracked all the way throuhg. Never Again. The delivery men ran out the door, did not complete the assembly, and now I have to deal with the store manager? unacceptable quality and service. Hopefully this will be resolved, but time wise, our time frame was betqween 1-3 pmk, and it is 5 pm, and my bed is not correctly assembled I came straight to the copmputer, since I had read all the "buyer beware" things ahead of time, and did not pay them heed, so happy was I with our deal. Never Again. back to Value City I go, where furniture arrives on time and undamaged.

Changed service call, no time given, rude

I called the 800 number 3 times, left name & number and no return call. Finally called the store where I purchased the item and a supervisor called me to set up appointment to fix chair. I changed two other appointments to the chair could be fixed. I received a call 4 days prior to date advising me the technician had an emergency and no one could come until two days later. The woman was rude and informed me the tech was no longer with the company and it was none of my business. Never again will we shop Ramour/Flanagan.

Raymour and Flanagan has POOR business practices! BEWARE

We were mattress and chair shopping. Salesman told us in order to garauntee the sale price we had to give him $20.00 to price hold the items we were considering since we were not ready to make the purchase at that moment. He insisted it be on a credit card and would not take cash.

Two weeks later we received a bill for the full amount due thanking us for our "layaway purchase". No place on it did it mention price hold.

I called the salesman directly and he knew immediately why I was angry because he "has received these calls before". I told him I thought it was all misleading and poor business practice. He then told me to "watch myself" when I demanded a refund of my money.

I will never shop there again. We had intended to go back and purchase a different item entirely that we had seen that evening. Now I am twice as angry because I was mislead, spoken to rudely, and have to start my item search all over again. I will surely tell all I can about my poor experience with this company;.

Bought a Build-a-Bear loft bed for my daughter. The clips that held the ladder on broke with me on it(I weigh 128 lbs). 6 weeks of climbing on a chair with a step stool on top to change the sheets and lifting my 42 lb daughter over my head to get her in and out.after continous complaining they finally changed out the ladder instead however the crew that came discovered 6 bolts that were never tightened. And all this on a child's bedroom set. they obviously don't take safety seriously. Buyer beware; especially if you're buying for your child!

Never Again! Misleading customers and then billing them!

Sales person told us we had to put a $20.00 "price hold" to get the sale price after the sale ended since we weren't going to make the purchase that night. Insisted it had to be on a credit card. Then we got a bill a week later with the full amount due thanking us for our Layaway purchase. Totally misleading and a VERY poor way to do business. Salesman told me to "watch myself" when I called to complain and demanded a refund of my $20.00. He also said this happens all the time. Now I am angry and will surely tell everyone I can to stay away from R & F.

Late delivery, missing AND damaged items

Raymour and Flanigan - Late delivery, missing AND damaged items

Sorry to say that I read all of the negative reviews AFTER pen was put to paper. One reviewer told of horror stories concerning the "No Interest " financing, this has my colon in a knot because I took the deal too, another reviewer complained of poor quality furniture from China. Sure enough this evening I had the misfortune of seeing that for myself when MY overpriced firewood arrived ( 4 hours late). When I pointed out some defects in the finish to the delivery person, he stated that was a "RUSTIC" look and was not a defect. To put the icing on the cake, the wrong tabletop color was sent . The box indicated the correct color however after opening, it was discovered that some functional illiterate repacked the wrong table in the box. I actually feel sorry for the delivery people because other than the sales person (who knows how to hide and duck your calls), they are the only LIVE people that you see and can shed your anger on.

The bottom line is: NEVER AGAIN

Question to all consumers: How much do you have to spend to REALLY get your moneys worth ?

Replaced uncomfortable mattress with wrong size; now won't make good.

We bought $10,000 worth of bedroom furniture including a $2,300 king size memory foam mattress (not a brand name) from the Watchung NJ store. Incidentally, the store's mattress coordinator handled the sale. The mattress felt nice in the store, but after several nights on it we realized it was like sleeping in *** Also, we couldn't sleep near the edge of the mattress nor sit on the edge without sliding off. On the other hand, the bed didn't make any noise when we did sit on the edge, and it was silent when we moved around (this becomes important later). After about a week, we contacted the store manager to reselect a mattress under the store's comfort guarantee. We were told we would be charged $199 for disposal of the original mattress and a $90 delivery charge for the replacement. We agreed. When we arrived at the store, the mattress coordinator who'd handled our original sale helped us through the reselection process. We explained we wanted a high-quality conventional (inner spring) mattress instead of a memory foam design. We were shown a very nice option that felt great -- until we found out it carried a price over $6000. The coordinator said the store manager would forgive the $199 disposal fee, but we felt the price was still absurd. We were then allowed to try out several options. We finally settled on a very comfortable Sterns and Foster king size for a little less than the original. The price differential distressed the mattress coordinator who explained that the comfort guarantee didn't provide for selecting a less expensive mattress. So we looked around some more and found one just as good (maybe even a little better) for a few hundred dollars more than the original. The replacement mattress was delivered, but its box springs were so thick we could not easily get into the bed. The head delivery person said we should have been given low-profile box springs, and he was kind enough to make the necessary arrangements. The correct box springs were delivered the next day. With the new mattress and box spring, however, we now heard a loud wood-on-wood creaking and cracking noise whenever we sat on the edge of the mattress or even when we just moved around. With each move it sounded like the bed was going to collapse. I visited the store and spoke to the store manager. I explained the problem and said it was like the mattress was too small. He appeared puzzled and said, "A king's a king," and referred me to the customer service manager. The customer service manager arranged for a technician to evaluate the problem and make a report. The technician arrived on 06-Sep-2008 and immediately heard the noise. He said the mattress was four inches too short and four inches too narrow. I asked about the manager’s “A king’s a king” comment. The technician explained that Sterns and Foster makes two sizes of king size mattresses and that our bed requires the larger size. As such, the mattress and box springs were not being properly supported; hence our weight was not being evenly distributed across the entire bed frame. This caused the frame to flex creating the noise as well as jeopardizing the structure of the bed. He said we would hear from the store in one or two weeks. It is now 23 Sep and we have not heard a word – nor have we had a decent night’s sleep. I've tried calling the customer service manager, but naturally, she's never in.

I think you and I got the same mattress....and this IS my replacement bed after the first bed failed. Well after all the things I have gone thru with R&F after making appx 4 purchases from their Deptford NJ store.

We have been lied to, have had delivery dates canceled many times, have had damaged furniture delivered, incomplete deliveries, even furniture that was not ours delivered but the icing on the cake was when they emptied the ENTIRE truck on my front lawn because they had loaded the truck backwards. Our front lawn looked like a yard sale of stuff from a scratch and dent room! When I called and complained they offered to give me a $100 gift card. Now after all I have been thru there is NOTHING in the store under $100 and I did not want to give them anymore of my money.

In the end I found a pair of wooden rooster and hen I had to add about $10 to, to get my credit. We have a HUGE account with Wells Fargo because we believed their lies. That Cindy Crawford denim sofa is ***. It did not last a year and we are still paying for this *** furniture.

My mattress and box spring needs to be replaced again....there is still 18 years warranty left on them but after the stories about the bugs on here there is NO WAY I will ever buy furniture there again. After throwing away the Cindy Crawford sofa we got smart and went to Lazy Boy and replaced it with 2 leather recliners that are beautiful!

Also I must add Lazy Boy's delivery is excellent. R&F should change their name to "The Dump" because it is!!!!!!

Failure to Deliver as Promised

I purchased a Dining Room set from Raymour and Flanagan on Reidville Dr. in Waterbury, CT. Before I even left the store, I had the salesperson check the computer to guarantee I would have the furniture on December 17. He confirmed I would. Last week, the manager I spoke to told me the furniture was on the truck, enroute to the store. Here it is December 23, and I still do not have my furniture, but I have three separate excuses of why I don't. The manager I spoke to today gave me quite an attitude, blaming the failure to deliver on their vendor, and stated that the $20.00 discount was the best they could do. I received much better service from Bob's Discount Furniture, and got my furniture on the day it was promised.

Raymour & Flanigan

Do not buy furniture from Raymour & Flanigan! I spent 21/2 hours in their showroom picking out a bedroom set that I didn't have to buy a headboard for only to find out upon delivery that the platform bed had to have the headboard in order for the bed to be put together. we explained we didn't want it, they said we either charge you for it or we take all the furniture back. Now we are without a bedroom set. Do all the sales associates at Raymour & Flanigan lie to get a sale? Never shop their again!!!

Raymour and Flanigan: No Ethics No Customer Service

I purchased the Carnegie love seat and couch along with the Elations table and chairs from the Manchester, CT R&F on 7/27. I was purchasing my first condo, closing on 8/15 so I wanted to get everything all set ahead of time. I scheduled an 8/21 delivery. At the encouragement of my salesman, I chose the least busy delivery date to be nice to the store. After I decided on my furniture, I went out and purchased decorations, lamps, etc, all based on my choice of a deep plum couch and love seat. At 7 pm on 8/20, I called R&F to find out what time my delivery was going to be. Long story short: somehow, my purchase had been cancelled out of the system. (In error of course.) Not to worry I was told, they put it back in, but I'd have to take delivery on on Saturday 8/23 instead. They promised me free delivery and a 100 dollar gift card. This was a problem for me because I had scheduled painters to come in to pick out colors for my condo based on my furniture arriving. I asked the woman I was speaking to, Jill, if I could come down and pick up a pillow from the floor model 1st thing in the morning on Thursday, 8/21. She said that was not a problem. The next morning, I took the 1/2 hour ride down to Manchester. I asked to speak to the store manager so I could get the store pillow. Low and behold, they no longer had the floor model of the couch. Jerry, the store manager with 2 weeks experience, was beyond rude to me. Their store messed up, and he was treating me like it was my fault. So, I asked him if I could take one of my actual pillows from my couch. Jerry went to check on my order. After about an hour, he came back. He told me that everyone messed up. My love seat had been sold. He said that IF I was able to even get it, it would be at least 6 weeks. Also, that was a big if. The chairs from the table were backordered. My furniture was not going to be delivered on Saturday. He told me that I was out of luck and to pick out new furniture. Now, I have over 500 dollars worth of merchandise I've purchased to go with plum couches that I can no longer use. This should not happen on an order placed three weeks in advance. I picked out a new couch. By the way, I HATE IT. I had to bring the sample, which was cut off the floor model, to the painters. Then, I had to drive back to the store to figure out what to do about the table and chairs. Somehow they 'found' the chairs and my delivery was back on for Saturday. R&F took back their gift card and free delivery offer that they had offered me the night before and my bill managed to increase significantly. Saturday 8/23 rolls around and I get my delivery. The plastic on the chairs have been left on. I had to spend over an hour taking the chairs apart in order to get the plastic off. Also, R&F delivered the wrong table top. Finally, I realized on my receipt that they had OVER charged me on the table. I spoke to the manager, Bill. After much coaxing, he had my bill reduced by the shipping and the overcharge for the table. He asked when I could have the correct table top delivered. I suggested either Tuesday or Friday after 4 PM. I was told that these times weren't conveinent for them. Well, them delivering the wrong table wasn't conveinent for me. We set up another Saturday delivery, Saturday 8/30. I was supposed to be the 2nd delivery on the 8 to 12 truck. At 10:30 I called Bill because my table top still hadn't shown up. Guess what? It never did. I don't know when I'll get it because no one will call me back from the store. Someone from the depot called me and said he'll personally bring it by Tuesday at 4:30, but I really don't believe it. Raymour and Flanigan is by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with. They have yet to compensate me for anything. 3 day delivery guaranteed my ***!

Wells Fargo is Raymours financier they are crooked, charge you by not suppling correct payment date

Raymour and Glanigan uses Wells Fargo, which is unscrupulous, they will find a way to charge you a high fee, by either not letting you know your exact due date. I believe that they purposely post your payment late, so they can negate the free finance and charge you a high percentage for the remaining contract.

They will invoice you late. They will do what ever it takes to ***. Don't take their finance. Also recently, because sales are off raymour stopped discounting, so don't expect anything off on price, what's more they just raised their prices.

Most odf their furniture is made in China, Iwonder is the material flame retardant and are the colors of the fabric made with lead, are there harmful chemical in the fabric. One thing I have noticed, YOU can NOT trust the label, the Chineese are so crooked they will print anything, even if not true. They don't care, just look at what they just did to their own babies with the dried milk scandal. The have only profits in mind, they really don't care who they screw, especially not their own people, and not us.

Look at the Mattel Scandal, don't drink from a chinese made ceramic cup, hot cofffee will make the lead in the glaze leach!

Bring back better made furniture, made in America with materials we can trust!

I purchased Broyhill furniture which is expensive almost five years ago and it is ready for the trash. We are adults so there is no abuse only general wear. They don't care. Just try to sell you something else. Do your self a favor and just buy from a cheaper store. It will last about the same. I spoke to a manager who sent a repair person they tell be they can take the furniture to the repair shop at my cost, 37.50 to truck it there, 37.50 back and 45.00 an hour to carefully peel back the fabric to re stuff the arms and redo the cushions. I purchased two sofas and two chairs. I got rid of one sofa already but now I just have to get rid of the rest. What a disgrace. They suck!
