Furniture delivered without the parts to use it

We purchased a dining room set from Raymour and Flanigan last week. It was delivered on Friday. Upon delivery, the table didn't have legs and there was a scratch in the glass on the hutch. We got the legs for the table much later that evening... and they ordered us a new door for our hutch yesterday (4 days after initial complaint). Here's the clincher. When we went to put the shelves up in the hutch, we realized that they didn't include the pegs to hang the shelves with our order. So, we can't even use our furniture because we don't have any shelves to store anything in. Do you think we can actually talk to a person about this? We've been given the runaround about our furniture for days. This company is definitely not focused on customer service and I will NOT do business with them again.

Reymour and Flanigan has terrible delivery service

My fiancee and I fell in love with a sectional sofa and table at Raymour and Flanagan. We ordered it and the delivery came on the day they promised to deliver it within the time they promised.

The problem arose when they tried to bring the pieces of the sofa into my apartment. Unfortunately the opening of my apartment was too small, and the deliveryman notified me that we would have to *** the door to make room. My super approved and he got his power drill and we began right away. Unfortunately it still did not fit.

The deliverymen started heading out the door and I thought that they were going to get the table I ordered as well. A few minutes later I noticed their delivery truck pull off. They left me standing there with no furniture and no door! I did not have a power drill to put the heavy door back on my own!

If they indicated that they would not have helped me put the door back on I would have called some friends over to help. They did not indicate to me that they were leaving and I was stuck for a long period of time with no door to a Brooklyn apartment until some good friends came to help me. Needless to say I was pissed! Be careful of deliverymen who offer to *** your door for a delivery.

Also measure the dimensions of your apartment/home and door/hallways before ordering furntiture.

That is horrible service. A delivery team should never leave a customer like that. Very poor service..

i am really amazed when customers don't have the foresight to know the measurements of their doorway, hall way, or staircase, and wonder why a pc of furniture won't fit. coming prepared with that information would save the customer alot of unneeded aggravation. its basic common sense.

Poor service at the Jersey City Location

We purchased 3 TABLES @ Jersey City location we asked the store to assemble prior to us picking up .When my wife arrived It was in the box! She told them that we asked to have these tables assembled for pick-up The people in the warehouse said it was easy to assemble.WhenI called the store and asked for the corporate number. The voice on the other end said he was the manager and not to threaten him with calling corporate. The voice then started to get loud and hostile. We were happy to see the store open in Jersey City but we will never go back. Beware of this store. After the sale your on your own....

Good product, price, and service

I for one am not pissed. I actually had a good experience with Raymour Flanigan. I was looking for a chest of drawers and found one on their web site. They delivered it on time and in pristine condition. The delivery men carried it to the third floor and removed my old chest, which I had foolishly bought from Target and assembled by myself. As I've since learned about these bargain items from places like Target, the drawer bottoms warped and constantly popped out of place but the Raymour Flanigan unit proved to be a solid piece of furniture.

Terrible quality

the table/chairs that were sold to me is the most terrible quality. I would expect this quality from say, Big Lots, but then I would know what I was purchasing. It wont last 6 months and they will NOT refund my $$. I am storing it since I still have to pay for it, and using my old set which I had for sale. Dont shop there, go to stores which sell name brands. and the sales people suck as bad as the furniture, it seems like a pyramid scam such as amway.. stay far away, they suck to deal with

Poor quality and company does not stand behin products!! They give you the run around!!

We bought two leather sofas from Raymour and Flanigan one year ago,and since then each sofa has been exchanged out three times. Both the loveseat and sofa are still damaged!! We have made all of our payments totaling over $3000 and we are stuck with damaged leather and collapsing cushions. We have tried dealing with the store salesman and had no luck. We also had absolutely no luck with their Platinum Protection Plan. AFter all is said and done we will have paid over $4000 for this damaged furniture! Please buy your furniture elsewhere, this company does not stand by their products!!!

Raymour and Flanigan-delivery

We ordered a twin over a full bunk bed and 2 dresses for my son on July 6th 2008. They scheduled delivery for July 10th between 12-4. The arrived just after 4, but didn't have the extension to make it a full on the bottom. The wouldn't put together the bed at all, because of safety reasons. They scheduled another delivery of the extension kit on July 16th between 2-6. They arrived on time. When they went to put the bed together they realized that there was no hardward to put the bed together. So again, my son did got his bed put together. He's been sleeping in my bed for over a week. They said they would find the hardware and bring it sometime today. They couldn't give me a time frame. They called about an hour before they arrived and put it together. I spoke with many people in customer service, warehouse manager and even the consultant who sold us the set. They were not very helpful and didn't seem to card. They did *** the delivery charge, but I will NEVER buy from Raymour and Flanigan again. I will encourage family and friends to never shop here as well.

Raymour & Flanigan has its faults and are not perfect but the nut below this comment about his sons bed is a complete LIE!

Dude needs to take a spelling test again because most of his spelling through out the trashing of his expierence with R&F was completely RUBBISH like his story!

Grow up and I bet you like when little boys sleep with you ***

Sorry you are having delivery related problems

Hello: I am a part time, on-call driver with a driver's leasing company. Raymour's sales representatives cannot promise you quality in delivery because the money you spend on the furniture goes "straight to the top" (the CEO's etc.) When you do not pay the drivers anything but peanuts, you get monkeys - and those monkeys are always calling out sick and/or you should see the turnover. This is where the leased driver come in. I am still studying part time during the day - it is a tougher curriculum than at night when everybody and the professor is tires - so I work through the evening hours. Being on-call with several of these driver's leasing companies usually guarantees that one of them will be calling me each day. TODAY the first company called me to show up in Swedesboro - where your furniture initially is dispatched - and because of travel/congestion the leasing company (through R & F) implied they could not tolerate my being 15 minutes late. So, completely separate from the first call, the second leasing company (where I am on-call) not knowing the first had called, called me about an hour later. The first call would have expected me 15 minutes late, now, an hour later another call. 1.25 hours late. Upper management thinks they are not going to invest in quality deliver, and thinks everybody is going to give them something for nothing. You gave them a lot of "something," and they know you will not be getting anything but a promise after you shell out the cash. Look in careerbuilder.com under Raymour & Flannigan and see how many jobs they list. Look at the fact they give you several years interest free and no payments - they are that desperate to make the sale. Sorry for your dilemma - but wanted you to know what goes on "behind the scense." Hotmail is my provider OMEGA_MAVERICK is me. Regards ...

Hey, im in need of a good affordable bedroom set that I will likely have for 2 more years at my present home then be moved to wherever I wind up after my fellowship. I have found nothing but *** poor reviews for R&F and Ashley's and Bob's.

My question is where the *** should I buy furniture. Please help! My girlfriend and I really need something better than my race car bed! Haha jk.

But seriously where should I shop? Thanks

Guest

I can absolutely vouch for the above person. I also (presently) work for R&F and find they only really care about that dollar.

I understand that is why the are in business but most of us do work very hard to get them that money. You could have 20 weeks straight where you have exceeded their expectations in sales and say on the 21st week you have a bad week and don't bring in a decent amount of money for them, the start giving you ***. They will not fire you for having one bad week but they do start questioning you. They don't even really acknowledge your good weeks.

They also are not positive about much. They work by threats. Not to physically hurt you but they have everyone runnug around wondering if they will have a job the next day. We have store meetings each weekend with all of the employees in that store.

This is where they need to add some enthusiasm instead of the negative round about threats. I don't blame the store management for acting this way. They get threatend more than us so they panic and give us ***. They make alot of extreme "panic changes" as I call them.

Once something isn't going right they get all freaked out and start firing all different level employees. They clearly let you know you are replacable. They have wonderful training classes that give a wealth of information but the problem is they don't practice what they preach. They show you all these great ways of how to be the best at what you do in these classes and then they do the opposite of what is taught.

At least the classes taught me some valuable information so I can take it with me to my next job. Oh well, that's the life of comission sales I guess.

Terrible service

On May 5, 2008 I placed an order with Raymore & Flanagan in Horseheads, NY for four living room pieces, a queen size sofa, a love seat and two club type chars. They were to be covered with fabric I chose in the store. The contract says a special order will take 6-8 weeks. I don't know if I will ever get my living room furniture. We have to sit on kitchen chairs if we want to read the paper in the living room. We have been given three succeedingly later delivery dates. The latest being July 28 delivery to the Syracuse facility, after which it will be delivered to my home in Penn Yan, NY. That makes it 12 weeks before it even gets to Syracuse. I really don't know when I will receive my furniture.

Love seat and couch

A couple of years ago, I bought a couch and love seat. After having the furniture for just a few weeks I called the store to tell them I no longer wanted the furniture. The reason being, is that the recliners were so hard to put in the down position that my children couldn't do it. I'm talking about the foot rest part of the recliner. The customer service person told me I couldn't return the furniture, but they could send someone to my house to adjust the tension of the footrests. I declined to have someone come to my house to do this, as I thought it hadn't even been thirty days since I made the purchase. They should have had no problem taking the furniture back. The furniture turned out to be cheaply made and I am constantly tightening the screws on the footrests. The no finance charge or interest for any length of time is a farce. I ended up paying twice what I should have for junk. I'll never shop at Raymour & Flanigan store again!!! Bob's Discount Furniture has much better deals, and the quality and service are a whole lot better. RJ.Lefebvre Belchertown, Ma.

I feel your pain. Ours was not only difficult to put down from the reclined position, but also erratically popped open out of nowhere. Thank God for my husband's quick reaction time or my newborn baby could have been terribly injured when the footrest popped up out of nowhere the first time, knocking over her bassinette.

Guest

FYI.....How would you like to buy used furniture that has been in someone elses house? This is why the company does not take furniture back..

Guest

:( I agree so much and can relate to it so much, I have the same problem now with a couch and loveseat that I purchased 2 months ago, and they wont come and get it, said no payments for a year, yeah right! And I have huge staples coming out and have been stabbed twice now in my fingers, I wont let my kids on the furniture anymore.

I so relate to this......

Horrible place to get furniture

I bought a living room set from them and the sales person wanted to deliver it a week later and I said to him O NO YOU GUYS SAY 3 DAYS OR LESS! Then he says to me well we don't deliver sundays or mondays?!?!?!?! Then how the heck can they say 3 days are less thats bull! Anyways so they call two days before the delivery and say it will be this day between 12-3 I say ok thats fine I make arrangments to be home since it was a work day... THEN the day before deliver this woman calls and says I want to set up your delivery for 2-5??? I said what are you talking about I already talked to a lady and set up a time and she says to me I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU TALKED TO BUT IT WAS NO ONE FROM OUR COMPANY BECAUSE THIS INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE YESTERDAY. I said to her are you calling me a liar???? I talked to a women I RETURNED THEIR CALL BECAUSE SHE LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE and I gave her the number I called back and she says yes thats our number but you could not have called here because no one would have had this information bla bla bla after arguing with her it got me no where so then I had to call off of work completely because I had already scheduled to leave and return and could not do that now that they had messed up. So when they deliver it they deliver stuff damaged and missing a pillow and the delivery guys were soo rude they tell me just sign here and call your sales guy theres nothing we can do now its already here. So I call the store and my sales person was not in so I talk to another person and tell them what is going on and she says well that extra pillow don't come with it! I said WHAT THEN WHY WAS THE PILLOW ON THE SOFA IN THE SHOW ROOM???? She says its just how our designer sets stuff up. And I said well you don't go and buy a car as you see it and when you get it have the steering wheel missing do you??? I said I have pictures that I took of the set when I bought it so I could match stuff up to it and I am NOT happy and she says well let me set someone up to come and fix the damage and talk to my manager. So she calls me back and says we will have that pillow delivered to your house and I am arranging for someone to come out ASAP they will call you with a time. well 3 days later I never got a call so I called them once again and the lady said o no one ever called you and I said NO NO ONE EVER CALLED ME.... So she says ok well I have your time let me check it and give it to you.... it ended up being a month later and I said that is ASAP THATS NOT FAST AT ALL YOU GUYS DAMAGE A SET THAT I PAID OVER 2000 DOLLARS FOR AND I HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH FOR YOU GUYS TO COME FIX IT!?!?!?!? and she says well I'm sorry but it is the quickest we can get you in. I said fine what ever. come the date they are to come and fix it I get a call saying I'm sorry but the service guy that was to come fix it is having car problems and I flipped on the guy I really left him have it and all he could say was this was not our fault this is unexpected! I am so disappointed. Also they sent me a coupon in the mail for 10% off and I would have had to use it within a month of buying my living room set how rude!

4th sofa is a charm-maybe??

I recently purchased a 1500 couch from Raymore and Flanigan. I was promised the couch in 3 days as the guarantee says. I was having company over that weekend and needed it before Saturday. We were assured by our sales rep that it would be no problem. The night before delivery the manager called and said that due to high sales they can't deliver it until Saturday. I said this was unacceptable, so the manager worked out some deal with a secondary delivery service which I paid $100.00 cash for and $100 was suppose to be taken off our bill. Long story even longer the couch had a bluish green glue stain on the arm. I was told I would get a new one on Monday, so I kept the dirty one. On Monday the new couch came with an even worse stain. Here we are after many promises from the customer service rep that it would be pre inspected and again the couch came today with the same stain!!!! So we are waiting for a 4th couch now, this is crazy and never again will I do business with RF.

Wells Fargo Bank

We bought furniture from Raymour and Flanigan. The mattress in the sofa bed wasn't great but our problem was with Wells Fargo bank. We financed with Wells Fargo.

They started off by sending us the bills a day or two before the due dates, we always paid more than the bill amount. They cashed one check but did not apply the credit to our account and sent us a late charge! we called and they were real nasty.

After they realized that we had the cancelled check, the guy at Wells Fargo says" as a courtesy i will remove the late charge" Courtesy??

My problem also is with Wells Fargo Bank.

When I purchased uy sofa the salesman encouraged me to use them as I would get an additional discount (as Wells Fargo pays the store to talk you into finace)

So the salesman said just pay the whole amount when you are billed and it won't cost you anything additional. So of course when they send the bill they don't allow enough time to send it back. I mailed it direct from the postoffice with a check for the entire balance (marked pd in full on the check) 14 days later I get a call from them telling me I have not made a payment! They appear to have lost my check? They were extremely rude over the phone, I allowed them to take payment over the phone although they charged me a late fee and interest! She asked if I wanted to keep my account open! I of course said no way, I didn't want it to begin with.

Two days later they cash my check! Now I have paid twice, overdrawen my checking account! I am unable to get a copy of my check off my bank records as they (wells fargo) cash them in such a way that there is no copy????

The customer service department at R&F tell me

that yes WellsFargo see's that I have pais twice, but they need to check further and that

"maybe" I'll be credited to my account by the 31st (8 days from now) Not I'm sorry we collected on a closed account with a zero balance and well refund the late fee and interest. Can I sue them?

I well never buy anything from R&F again!

Guest

Hey Wells Fargo Pissed Consumers,

You can take them to small claims court. Just file with "breached our contract" and "refused to refund my money" or "negligent in administering my contract" and be sure to request a jury trial (write "Jury Trial Requested" on the complaint and they will call you to SETTLE to avoid a trial by jury.

They are very concerned with the publicity.

Request the max you can get and settle for half. GO!

Guest

Raymour & Flanigan and Wells Fargo opened an account without my permission in 2011, using information they had from 2009. They reported it to the credit bureaus with a zero balance, but with a negative comment saying the account was settled for less than the balance due!

There was never a balance due. Wells Fargo is the epitome of incompetence.

They refuse to respond to my dispute. I recommend anyone with a case to report it to The Comptroller of the Currency!

Guest

Wells Fargo what else can I say?

Raymore and Flannigan Rip Offs

The worst customer service I have ever expierenced. The worst delivery service I have ever expierenced.

Assembled my furniture incorrectly, showed up 5 hours late! The were extremely rude on the phone. They acted as if they are doing me a favor. Do not do business with this company.

They refunded my delivery fee, but I still can't use my bed. They can't come back when it is good for me. I spent almost $2000, and they give you a run around. I have never regreted a business transaction more.

Save youself the headache and don't buy from this sleezy operation.

Well, I wish I had found this site before I purchased a sofa from Raymour and Flannigan .

The showroom model was beautiful, so I purchased it .

It arrived this morning and the front top leather cushion is pieced, the floor sample had it and I knew what I was buying, however, one piece of leather is lighter than the one directly next to so it looks like a patch work quilt.

Customer service is a disgrace, I have been placed on hold and disconnected more than once. After 3 hours of holding on the phone and dialogue grief I want a refund and will never do business with this store again.

The delivery was horrific the delivery man was rude and the sofa came wrapped in filthy blankets , which they removed and the couch was covered in dusty dirt. When they went to take the blankets out of my home they shook the filthy things all over my living room!

Save yourself grief & shop elsewhere, this store needs better quality control of their products . As long as we Americans accept less than first quality merchandise made in China for top dollar this vicious cycle of rip offs will continue. The draw back is it is hard to find sofas made in the USA.

No wonder why there are no jobs in America!

Guest

I purchased a sofa and recliner chair two years ago and used their one year interest free financing. They delivered our furniture somewhat with the time table they said(its really hard for them to nail down an exact delivery time because there are many things which can affect their schedule).

They put it all together for me and showed me how to take it apart and even how to add stuffing to them if it settled after time. I paid it off in the year allowed and I have never had an issue with the furniture since. The salesman at the Abington store was very helpful.

Please remember that these guys work on commission. If you worked on commission, you would use the same tactics to sell.

Iam getting ready to move again and will be going there to purchase a bedroom set and a dining room table and chairs.

Guest

thanks for the heads up, was about to look at some furniture but won't even bother now they sound horrible.

Guest

To be fair, I was very angry at feeling helpless and we get mad at the sales people and they might be just as much prisoners of the stores' policies as we are to some degree, my mom got very lucky in leu of this stores' policy, Josh straightened everything out for her last evening. However I still think that these store policies have to change, you "sign for it, end of story" policy, it relieves the stores of all responsibility and the consumer and their sales people with the entire burden. :)

Guest

mom purchased a livingroom set and tables on before thanksgiving from the Cropsey avenue Bklyn store, delived wednesday, sadly the tables did not fit her livingroom, contated the salesman Josh right away wnt to look at another set for even exchange had to wait until friday for the supervisors approval, it was approved and delivery is for this friday, then my mom is asked if she wants to put the $329.00 in the card, mom called me surprised and unsure of the charge, i called the salesman and this time he is a little loud and tells me that the set we picked is more expensive and he forgot to tell us, by the way the new set we picked out is smaller and very simple not to mention that we noticed that the couch was maked up $400.00 from the price 3 days before. my mom is being extorted and the attorney general should look at this stores practices or at least how they are allowing the individual stores practice if this is an isolated incident, which i dought.

Guest

After purchaing premier coverage to cover any wear on our new sofa they are refusing to replace or repair cushions after only one year of use. We have no chidren so for two adults to use a sofa for one year that cannot be replaced or repaired is such poor service. I continue to call them every week to continue to complain in the hope of getting service.
