I had an almost identical experience with a small kitchen set that I bought from them around a year ago.It sits in my basement unused because it smells so bad.
They sent a technician to coat the furniture to cover up whatever is causing the odor, but it didn't change anything. I even had a professional woodworker, who I had hired to restore some of my other pieces, work on it to do something similar, and it still stinks. I didn't bother following up anymore. I assume that this is my tough luck and I'm wiser when it comes to purchasing furniture now (which of course includes never buying anything from Raymour & Flanigan again as long as I live).
I bought a new kitchen set from a local furniture store and have had no problems with that set.Anybody want this smelly piece of crap kitchen set that's stinking up my basement?
